Geographical image of Mt. Sakurajima in Kagoshima bay,
on 9/Dec/92. 95 km * 80 km
This image exhibits the geography around Mt. Sakurajima, which is a half-island in Kagoshima Bay, surrounded by Ohsumi and Satsuma Peninsulae at the right and left sides, respectively. Before the Taisho eruption in 1914 when the lava flow filled the canal at the south-east corner, Sakurajima had been really a volcanic island.
