Sakurajima Eruption and Ash Dispersal, 2009.4.9

A strong eruption of Sakurajima volcano took place at 15:31 on 9 April 2009 at Showa crater (800 m a.s.l.) on the eastern side near Minamidake crater.
The height of the eruption cloud was over 4000m, and subsequent heavy ash fall covered Kagoshima city.
